Well done to all the team who were instrumental in Bi Composites being awarded an outstanding excellence and quality performance Certificate by Jaguar Land Rover.

The Certificate to Bi was received recently and now hangs proudly in the Reception at Halesowen.

Specifically, the award recognises the consistent high excellence and levels of quality components supplied to Jaguar Land Rover for use in their vehicles.

Phillip Legg, Systems Manager at Bi said ‘this award is particularly satisfying for all of us as Jaguar Land Rover is such a prestigious manufacturer and is known around the world for its quality’.

He continued ‘Everyone should be justly proud of this achievement, especially the Moulding Team, CNC team and Engineers – also many unnamed people at the company have made this happen’.

The 2010 OPERC’s, International Awards for Exellence (IAE), within the plant and equipment community were recently held at the Centre for Business, Innovation and Enterprise at Birmingham City University.

Karl Kalsi, Managing Director at Bi Composites said ‘Everyone from the company is extremely proud that Kevin Bradley was selected to receive his Silver Medal, well done Kevin’.

The Silver Medal was awarded to Kevin for his ‘outstanding contribution to innovative plant and equipment component design using composite plastics and vacuum forming’.

These awards have been referred to as the ‘Plant and Equipment Management Olympics’ and require the same level of commitment to achieve as an Olympic Medal!

The prestigious IAE awards are made to individuals to celebrate their contribution within the plant and equipment community and to recognise their advancement of professionalism and performance in their chosen field of expertise. In Kevin’s case, composite plastics and vacuum forming.

The awards were made by Professor David J Edwards of the Business School, Birmingham City University who said the silver medal was awarded to the individual who had ‘demonstrated real passion and expertise’ and who ‘truly deserve the award and recognition that comes with it’.

With customers from the fast world of expensive cars through to larger than life earthmoving equipment, it’s essential that Kevin and the rest of the team at Bi, stay ahead of the competition by using their skills and ingenuity to find the right solution. The Special Report in PEP looked into injection moulding, vacuum forming, polyurethane technologies and resin transfer moulding at our Cannock Site.
